A new Regulation on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of their personal data and on the free movement of such data, designated by the General Regulation on Data Protection was published by the European Parliament on 27 April 2016 (REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL). This Regulation was applied in May 25th, 2018 and repealed Directive 95/46 / EC for the protection of personal data.

AZ Mecatrónica – Automação e Mecatrónica Industrial, Lda, hereinafter referred to as AZM, is committed to comply with the General Regulation on Data Protection and with all applicable European standards and regulations in the context of Data Protection and Privacy.

AZM is committed to protecting the rights, freedoms and guarantees of the natural persons visiting this website and users of the services provided here, referred to as Data Holders, in the safe treatment of their personal data, in accordance with all their legal obligations.


AZM’s Privacy Policy is based on the terms in use by the European legislator in publishing the General Regulation on Data Protection. This Policy must be readable and understandable by all Data Holders visiting this website. Here are the most common definitions used in our Policy:

  • Personal data.   • Responsible for the treatment. Natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other entity which, individually or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of processing personal data;
  • Subcontractor. A natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other entity that treats the personal data on behalf of the person in charge of the treatment thereof;
  • Control authority. An independent public authority established by a Member State of the European Union in accordance with Article 51; is the authority responsible for controlling and supervising the processing of personal data, in strict respect for human rights and for the freedoms and guarantees consecrated in the Constitution and the law.


AZM is the entity responsible for the website with and for all the services available to the Data Holders. The use of this website and the services provided by Data Holders may imply the performance of personal data processing activities. In accordance with its commitment to Privacy, AZM ensures the Privacy and Protection of the personal data of the Data Holders.

In the website, personal data are collected when the Data Holders use or activate certain services or functionalities. This personal data may be provided by the Data Holders so that they can enjoy these services or functionalities or will be the result of their use, namely access, consultations or other transactions. Within the scope of the mentioned services and functionalities, personal data of various categories such as name, address, email, telephone number or other personal identifiers can be collected and treated. Before or during the activities of collection and processing of personal data, the Data Holder will always be informed of the purpose of the collection of the personal data, of its retention period, of how it will be processed and of who will be the recipients. The data owners’ express consent will always be required for the collection and processing of their personal data. The personal data collected by AZM under the website are processed by computer means, manually and, if applicable, in an automated way, in the scope of the management of the relationship with the Data Holders, always under the terms of General Regulation on Data Protection and other applicable national and Community legislation.


In the website there is a contact form that provides direct communication with AZM. If a Data Holder contacts AZM using the contact form, personal data will be stored automatically and will only be used by AZM to contact the Data Holder to respond to your request. This personal data will only be processed and maintained as long as it is applicable in the context of the contact initiated by the Data Owner. This personal data will not be used for other purposes or transmitted to third parties.


AZM makes available to the Data Holders on the website the opportunity to leave their personal data for the purpose of a possible application for a job offer at AZM. The used form used gives information about the collected personal data, the data purpose, its retention period, who will process it and what rights will the Data Owners have, in relation to their personal data. At the moment of the collection of personal data, the Data Holder is required to give his explicit consent to send the application and to process his data. The personal data collected will be kept during the referred retention period or until the Data Holder revoke his/her consent or request the deletion of his/her data (shorter period of the two). This request to revoke the consent and deletion of personal data can be made to any of the contacts made available in this Policy. The collected personal data on the application form will only be used for the purpose of recruitment activities within the scope of any vacancies of AZM. There will be no transfer of data to third parties.


In website’s use context and the services and functionalities therein provided, Data Holders may, at any time, exercise their data protection and privacy rights, namely: access their personal data; rectify inaccurate or incomplete data; request the deletion of personal data, if permitted by law; revoke any consent to the collection and processing of data that has been made; request the portability of the data; and limit or oppose the processing of personal data, under the terms and conditions of the General Regulation on Data Protection and applicable additional legislation. All requests for the exercise of data protection and privacy rights by Data Holders must be made by the Data Subject and written to AZM or its Data Protection Officer, using the contacts made available in this Policy.


In website’s use context and the services and functionalities therein provided, AZM carries out personal data processing activities for which it will have a legitimacy basis, whether due to the fact that the Data Owner has given his consent to the collection and processing of his/her personal data, whether because the collection and processing is necessary for the execution of a contract in which the Data Holder holds or for pre-contractual activities and request of the Data Holders. If applicable and after informing the Data Holders, personal data processing activities may be carried out for which there is a legal basis or compliance with a legal obligation to which AZM is bound or for the fact that the processing of personal data is necessary for the legitimate interests of the undertaking to be pursued.


The personal data collected by AZM in the context of the services and functionalities available through the website have their storage period informed at the time of their initial collection activity. In general, personal data will be kept only for the necessary period of time for the data treatment purposes that were informed to the Data Holder as a basis for the collection and subsequent processing or until the Data Holder requires it to be erased. All the personal data that have its conservation period finished as stated, will have its use restricted and will be erased.


The availability of the services and functionalities of the website may involve the use of AZM subcontractors. These entities may have their head office in or outside the European Union. The service provided to AZM by these subcontracting entities may imply their access to the personal data of the Data Holders. If this access is required, the Data Holders will be informed in advance of this fact and their consent will be requested for this data sharing to be made.

AZM will only use subcontracting entities that provide the necessary and sufficient guarantees of the execution of the technical and organizational measures appropriate to comply with the General Regulation on Data Protection and applicable legislation in the protection of the personal data and in the privacy of the Data Holders.


In the scope of the available services and functionalities on the website and the activities of collecting and processing Data Holder’s personal data, AZM does not transfer personal data to third parties that are not subcontractors, except in the scope of the strict compliance of obligations that may be identified. Likewise, no data will be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those that were initially informed to the Data Holders and for which they gave their consent.


With the technical support of its subcontracting entities, AZM applies necessary and adequate technical measures on its website to guarantee the integrity and confidentiality of the Data Holder’s personal data, in order to protect their personal information collected and stored away from negligent or willful use. The implemented technical measures protect the personal data against its loss, destruction, misuse, alteration, unauthorized access or unlawful treatment. Data Holders are responsible for following good security practices in accessing the services and functionalities provided by the website, namely in the secure maintenance of their access credentials to private areas, in the updating and maintenance of their operating systems and personal computers according to the manufacturers’ instructions and in the installation and use of security applications such as antivirus, among others.


On the way to comply with the General Regulation on Data Protection and applicable legislation in the ​​Data Protection and Privacy areas, AZM may, at any time, make adjustments or changes to this Privacy Policy, such amendments being duly advertised by AZM. It assumes its responsibility for the continuous improvement and development of its data protection processes and practices.
